Playing the Real Estate Game is a Key Factor to City Reformation (Amanda Moreno-Lake)
In this episode, host Becky Hennesy takes listeners inside one of the incredible sessions presented at the recent Reformers Collective Conference. She interviews Amanda Moreno-Lake, who is a 20-year veteran of the real estate industry in the DFW area. Amanda shares her open secrets of how she is affecting change in her community. It includes the "long game" of buying property, upgrading buildings, working with city officials and joining her local chamber of commerce.
Amanda is currently the President of Redevelopment at Jim Lake Companies and Partner in several investment partnerships. She has completed the redevelopment of the downtown square in Waxahachie and is currently focusing on the Oak Cliff Tower, and the redevelopment of the downtown square in Ennis and Cedar Hill. Aside from real estate and construction, Amanda also owns Ocho, a Latin Cuisine inspired restaurant and has previously owned her own fair share of businesses including a hair salon, western-wear store, and trucking company. In addition to Amanda’s business operations and partnerships, she has been part of the DART Board of Directors since 2013, serving as Chairwoman of the Planning Committee. She is also on the Dallas Arboretum Board of Directors, is a Bishop Dunne Ambassador, co-founder of Mammogram Poster Girls, and past Chairwoman of the Board for the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce and the Fair Park Texas Foundation Board of Directors. She is a recipient of the Dallas 500 in D Magazine for 2020 and 2021.
